The trek continues to the serene turquoise waters of Gokyo Lakes (4,700m), a sacred and surreal collection of glacial lakes beneath Cho Oyu (8,188m). Climbing Gokyo Ri (5,357m) offers an unmatched view of Everest and neighboring giants.
Crossing the high and icy Chola Pass (5,420m), you rejoin the classic route to Everest Base Camp (5,364m), where the immense Khumbu Icefall looms ahead.
