Lobuche Peak 6,119m & Gokyo Lake

Trip Overview

Lobuche Peak Climbing – A Himalayan Ascent with Kora Quest Adventure

Your journey to Lobuche Peak begins with a breathtaking flight into Lukla, one of the world’s most thrilling airports. Surrounded by sheer cliffs and snow-covered ridges, Lukla marks the start of your adventure into the heart of the Khumbu Valley — home to the world’s highest peaks and the legendary Sherpa culture.

From Lukla, the trail winds toward Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Everest region at 3,440 meters. This vibrant mountain town offers a perfect blend of comfort and culture, with panoramic views of Kongde Ri and glimpses of Everest teasing the horizon. After acclimatizing, the trail leads into the stunning Gokyo Valley, a high-altitude wonderland of alpine meadows, turquoise lakes, and glacial moraines.

The shimmering Gokyo Lakes — especially the third lake, Dudh Pokhari — are a spiritual and visual highlight. Reflections of snow-capped peaks shimmer in their still waters, offering a moment of serenity before tackling the demanding Chola Pass at 5,330 meters. Crossing the pass, surrounded by towering ice walls and rugged glaciers, is both physically challenging and deeply rewarding.

From here, you make your way toward Lobuche High Camp at 5,400 meters, where the alpine terrain sharpens, and the anticipation builds. The summit push to Lobuche East (6,119m) is an exhilarating climb involving snowy ridgelines, technical sections, and breathtaking exposure. Upon reaching the top, you are greeted with one of the most spectacular Himalayan panoramas — Everest (8,848.86m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,861m), Makalu (8,485m), and countless other peaks stretch endlessly across the horizon.

With Kora Quest Adventure, Lobuche Peak is more than just a climb — it’s a journey through the raw beauty and deep spirit of the Khumbu. From sacred lakes to towering summits, every step immerses you in the natural and cultural wonders of Nepal’s most iconic region.
